You are listening to a Clark's World magazine podcast I still have no idea what to say in those beginning few seconds when I turn on the microphone.

Maybe host will come out of my mouth maybe narrator maybe podcast director but

usually I'm all three so how are you doing another month has gone by and

we're in the full swing of summer here in the United States. The kids are out of

school, the ice cream truck stalks the streets hoping that children will come running

out of their doors and when not splashing in the pool or making sun tea out on the porch, the heat of

summer and the boredom sets in. So hopefully, you're staving off yours well listen to a

podcast today. There's not much in the way of science

fiction news as it pertains to Clark's world, so we'll get started on our story in just

a few seconds. I will tell you though that awards season is in full swing as

evidenced by the locus awards that were given out on June 26th. We're coming up on deadlines for the Hugo's and I think we just passed a deadline for the World Fantasy nominations.

So again, if you are a member of any of these organizations or any organizations at all that have awards,

please show your support and go ahead and nominate and vote for your favorite things.

You are fandom.

As for convention news, Neil and I will be attending ReaderCon.

ReaderCon is in Burlington, Massachusetts on the dates of the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th.

There are a lot of excellent guests who attend,

and the focus is mainly on the craft of writing and the business of writing.

So if you are in the area and if you are aspiring writer, if you just want to learn more, see your favorite author,
