One of the most common concerns I hear from people starting to meditate on God and His

Word is that their mind is simply too busy.

Their thoughts run too fast for them to ever be still.

That is not an unusual struggle and happens to all of us from time to time.

But let me reassure you, meditation is not shutting off your mind.

In fact, you can't meditate wrong and you can't meditate right.

There are no good times to meditate or bad times.

There is only choosing to set aside time to be still, joyful and present in the presence

of God, conceding to Him, choosing to give Him your mind, your body, your soul and spirit.

But are you ever restless?

You struggle to be still.

Well, the theme of this meditation from Psalm chapter 46 is about conceding, admitting

that the presence of God is true, proper and certain, it is sufficient.

And there you can be joyful, there you can be still.

So to begin, whether resting in the first still light of morning sun or already wrestling

with the hectic thoughts of the day, yield this time as a divine retreat.

A time not of restlessness, but a moment of stillness and joy in the divine presence of God.
