Today's tip is to be proactive in choosing your volunteer roles.

Don't find yourself voluntold to do something you are not excited about,

and then find yourself looking for an opportunity to quit.

Instead, reflect on how you want to contribute.

Then get intentional about finding a volunteer role that is a great fit for you.

I know of a woman who has capable, energetic, and sociable,

and so she often gets asked to serve on boards and committees.

She has great ideas. People like her.

Isn't you the perfect candidate?

Well, not quite. As she puts it, I don't like meetings. So she doesn't agree to volunteer in ways that involve a lot of meetings. Well, I am sure some folks would disagree with that philosophy.

I get it. And I think it is good to know yourself.
