Good morning and welcome to our second Sunday morning service. We have two services on Sunday morning, and the first one is our Bible prophecy update, and this second service is our verse by verse study through the Word of God. We're making our way through the Bible, and we are currently in 2nd Timothy. Our text today is going to be chapter 1, verses 13 through 18. We'd encourage you

online to join with us there in 2nd Timothy. And as you do, just a quick reminder that we have

It's a work in progress. We very

much appreciate your patience with us, but more importantly, your prayers for us, especially with

respect to the forum, which is very active. And we really wanted the forum to be a place

where people could go to be encouraged and edified and a safe

place. And so we would really encourage you to pray for us concerning this. We're still working

on this, trying to navigate our way through this. So with that, let's get into the word, Second Timothy chapter

1. We're going to begin in verse 13. We left off last week in verse 12. I'll ask those of you who are here.

If you're able, you can stand and follow along with me as I read, if not where you're seated is fine.

As I read the text, I just want to, by way of a

reminder of sorts, just let you know that Timothy is receiving this letter from Paul, who knows

that it's just a matter of time before he will die a martyr's death for Jesus.

These are his final parting words. And as he writes them, he is in a prison and never imagine

it as the prisons we understand today. He is in a dungeon of a prison left there to die. What he doesn't know, he knows

he's going to die. He just doesn't know how he's going to die, but he's about to be beheaded.

And he knows it. And so as we read the text, just through the lens of this mightily used man of God, the Apostle Paul. He's penning this letter

to Timothy whom he loves so much. And this is the final letter that he'll write. And it's to this young

man who's a pastor and he loves him so much like a son as he's referred to him

earlier in the letter. So, verse 13, what you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching

with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
