Summary

As we continue this week on the marks of a true Christian, today we’re going to look at what it means to be fervent in spirit. You were made to live with a fervent faith, zealous in response to God’s passionate love for you. May God fill all our hearts with his love in a meaningful, authentic way. And may we find the courage in him to live our faith passionately.

Our Scripture for today comes from Romans 12:11, and today's worship is Jireh by Maverick City & Elevation Worship.

Faith doesn’t happen on its own. It’s a byproduct of time spent experiencing the faithfulness of our God. It’s a gift given to us by the Giver of good gifts, himself.

It was a supernatural faith that allowed Paul to sing even while in chains. It was supernatural faith that allowed Peter to proclaim the gospel, even unto death. And it’s supernatural faith that will carry you to and through the greatest gospel opportunities in front of you.

1:23.5	Here Paul is talking about feeling sluggish in a relationship with God.
1:29.5	He's describing a feeling of laziness, a lack of desire.
1:35.5	Do you ever feel like your spirit is anything but fervent?
1:40.9	In the word fervent here is better translated as boiling over.
1:46.4	Do you ever feel like your spirit is more like stagnant water?
1:51.8	Let's look today at how we as followers of God can stir up our affections for the Lord.
1:58.6	And let's make space for God to put fire under any area of our spiritual life that feels stagnant,
2:06.0	that it might boil over in Him.
