All right. We've been in a series talking about being with Jesus is greater than doing for Jesus.

And this has really been a series that's personal for me, but I think it's personal for all of us

because we live in a culture and in a world that glorifies busyness. We glorify activity.

We exalt someone who's always on the grind,

who's always putting in the time, who's always moving their life at a certain pace. And I think,

honestly, it makes us feel special individually to go, man, I'm just so covered up right now.

I can barely handle all the people who want to hang out

with me. I can barely handle all the responsibilities that come with my school or my work. And I just

want you to know, like, anybody who has an iPhone is going to be busy for the rest of their lives.

It's not like cool and like socially acceptable to be busy. It's cool to have a handle on your soul and to not

spend your whole life feeling like you're running yourself into the ground. And what we've been

talking about is this idea that Jesus said, come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I

will give you rest. And when Jesus talks about giving us rest,

he says, I'll give you rest for your souls. So he's not inviting us into a vacation or a nap or a water

break. He's inviting us into the peace that our souls long for. And I just got honest from our

stage a couple weeks ago and said, I have a tendency to veer and

default so much toward doing that when I do and do and do, my soul is getting sick from

the overactivity and the over commitments and being overwhelmed by all of this stuff, that what

my soul is longing for is just to slow down and be with Jesus.

So here's what we're doing in this series.

If I could summarize it in one sentence, it would be this.
