Benaya was a brave warrior who served under kings David and Solomon.

Although Benaya was the son of a priest and would not normally use weapons,

he took an active part in the wars of Jehovah. He showed great courage. For example, he killed a lion

in a water pit and defeated an armed giant. David trusted Benaya so much that he made him the

chief of his bodyguard. Benaya remained loyal to David during the rebellions of Absalom and Adaniah.

In David's old age, Benaya also supported the coronation of Solomon.

Yes, Benaya was loyal to Jehovah and his anointed ones, even when others proved disloyal.

We, too, need courage to fight against our formidable enemy,

Satan and his supporters, and we should be determined to continue to live by Jehovah standards.

Even if some choose to leave Jehovah, we loyally stick to him, confident that he will reward us.
