The strongest man in the Bible had to learn the reality of his own weakness and the true source of strength.

Today we learn spiritual truths from the life of Samson.

Let's join Scott Pauli now as we journey through the Word of God.

For the last several episodes, we have been looking carefully at the life of Samson

leading up to Delilah, leading up to that tragic chapter that it all falls apart, where

life seems to come apart at the seams.

You know, when people get to that point, at some point earlier,

they had already been making some very poor decisions.

And we've learned a number of those from the life of Samson.

Let's just review them to begin with today.

We learned that he started living by sight instead of by faith.

We discovered that he made small compromises on a big vow. They didn't seem

so terrible at the beginning, but little compromises lead to something. Then he wanted what everybody

else did. He wanted to fit in. He wanted to live it up. And everyone else was doing it. It must be

okay.

Then he allowed a besetting sin to take root in his life.

That besetting sin was lust.

Then he ignored the guides that God gave him.

Let's add to that list today.

We discover that he gave his heart to the wrong person.

By the time you come to Judges Chapter 16, he begins to develop a relationship with a woman named Delilah.

Judges 16 verse 4, it says, and it came to pass afterward that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorok whose name was Delilah.
