How scientific do you think we are? I don't mean what grades did you get in your GCSEs. I'd be fairly

near the back of the queue that. I often feel my father should, and my mother should have been

due for a refund. So poorly did I perform in some of my, some of my science exams. I also fell into

that trap. Do you think I'll ever start the show one day and actually go in the direction I was intending to go when the light came on?

Why am I telling you about my GCSE results?

I'm about to go into a bit of a sort of personal ramble about that tragedy, that peculiarly British tragedy,

where we can almost be proud of being bad at maths and science.

I was very much in that category, to my eternal regret.
