submitted to us by our friend Gabriel Reed who writes, John, I'm sure you've seen the news already

that the Academy is considering delaying the 2021 Oscar ceremony. That's the next Oscars coming up. I look forward to it every year

but I understand the likely decision. How do you think this will impact Oscars and or

the theater experience moving forward? Thanks. All right, thanks a lot for sending that in, man. And yes,

listen, the big dominating news, of course, for the last couple of months in the

world of film and film fandom is, of course, the movie theaters are shut down.

You know, a lot of these movies we've been waiting for have been delayed and all that kind of stuff.

And the question has often come up about how is it going to affect the Oscars?

And you know, my first reaction to that a number of weeks ago was, you know what, I really don't think it's going to affect the Oscars all too much, because I think, you know,

we'll be back in the theaters will be open again by end of July, maybe August, something like that. And it's really most of the prestige films

come out after that anyway,

so you know, it's not gonna affect the Oscars at all.
