I've got to do what no podcaster wants to do and begin with something of an apology.

I'm away this week and while we were able to record a rundown of what was a brilliant

EFL weekend, because I'm away from home, I wasn't able to use my recording equipment, which

normally produces such good audio quality.

So it's a bit of a throwback for those of you who used to listen in 2016 when we recorded

in my front room, the quality of audio, not as good as

we would like, but hopefully still good enough for you to listen to the next hour and a bit

of engaging EFL chat.

The gaffer actually gave me the weekend off this weekend.

He wanted me fresh for the run in.

I've taken that quite literally.

I'm recording this from an Airbnb cottage in Sandwich in Kent,

lovely part of the world.

And I've basically spent the whole weekend walking around various pebbly beaches

and drinking in lots of nice Kent pubs.

So although I'm aware of what happened over the weekend,

I'm relying on you to add the flesh.

You don't know how it happened.

Exactly. So I'm looking forward to picking your brains because, as you say,

it looked like a very lively weekend indeed.
