has always played at its own pace. Let's get cozy. Close your eyes. Relax your body.

In summer, little league ball games are played on thousands of fields across the United States.

There's one of these soft green diamonds tucked away in nearly every city, town, village, an unincorporated community.

And for a few months in spring and summer, those green expanses host the leisurely game.

In the cities, the fields are surrounded by miles and miles of concrete. The stadiums are large enough to hold thousands of

spectators. From the grandstand, the fields and players are seen at a great distance.

In the towns, the fields are nestled alongside playgrounds,

hidden away on country roads, grouped together in recreational complexes, among many configurations.

There is a particular field, however, that becomes the beating heart of one small town each and every time a game is played there.
