Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Monday edition of the yard.

The Sun did come up today in Starkville. It's not so bad. I know it's a day that many of us thought would never come, that Ole Miss won an NFL championship. I do think in some respects, God's got a bit of a sense of humor. You know, we went

at yes. Last year, they went it this year. I'm not going to offer any congratulations or any

code of conduct or anything like that, but I will say, I've said on this show many times before.

I've got a lot of respect for Mike Bianco and the program they built up there. And considering

the way that Mike Bianco has been

treated by that fan base this year especially, and listen, I get it. You know, one at one Omaha

parents of what, 22 years, you know, you expect a little bit more. And to be honest with you,

you know, our success has kind of stirred up the pressure up there as well. But the reality of it is now they've got a championship of their own. And, you know, there's a part of me that's kind of happened for Mike Bianco. I mean, honestly, I think the guys done a great job, but a program that had a little in a way of tradition in college baseball before he got there. I didn't expect them to win. I didn't want them to win, but one

they have. So you tip the cap and you move forward. They were a very veteran baseball team.

We knew going into the year that lineup was going to be potent, didn't think they had the pitching.

And what do they do? They have two newcomers that really stepped up. Dylan Delucci, of course,

a junior college transfer, then Hunter Elliott, freshman on Tuplo.

Those guys were outstanding, especially in the postseason. But in the middle of the year,

those guys weren't doing a whole lot. You know, we didn't beat Delushia. We did beat Elliott.

We win the series against those guys up in Oxford. But the reality of it is, is the end of the day, they kind of figured it out late. It is what it is. It's like we always talk about it. You just got to get to Omaha. Like I've read these things today about, well, you know, Ole Miss had an easy schedule. That may be true, but they didn't make the schedule. You know, they didn't get to pick their bracket. I mean, they go to number six national seed Miami, who may have been overrated, but the reality of it is is they went down there and won the regional. They go to Southern Miss. A lot of people this year have felt that Southern Miss was the best G5 team in all of college baseball. They beat those guys too in their own ballpark. They get to Omaha, they're in a very difficult bracket. I think actually the more difficult bracket, if we won't be honest about it. I had Stanford winning the whole thing. They had Arkansas. Arkansas has been a burrow in the Rebel Saddle for years. They get through those guys. Maybe they catch a break getting Auburn. That's an Auburn team that may have

overachieved a little bit this year. But at the end of the day, you play who they put in front

of you, and they beat them. They beat them. We can talk about the ball game yesterday. I think

Oklahoma probably left some opportunities on the table.

The first game, it just seemed to me that they were not ready to play.

Oklahoma was just not ready to play.
