It's actually a Chinese communist revolutionary, but no matter your political views,

you're going to get some value from this in terms of how this relates to you as a competitor.

with us. There's actually two angles I want to take with this. And the first one has to do with the

first part of the quote. So first he said, I never read any treatises on strategy. So you might be

thinking, that's a damn lie. Of course, he's read and studied strategy. I would agree with you, but you're missing the point. Any true strategist understands that anytime you enter into a new domain or set a new goal, embark on a new campaign, you have to wipe the slate clean. One of the worst

mistakes that you can make is thinking that just because you won, you're going to win again.

And we see it happen all the time in sports. Athletes will take on the very same strategy they've

been taken on. But when we look at those who are the best, the most dominant,

Floyd Mayweathers of the world, the New England Patriots, Nick Sabin and the Crimson Tide,

these are programs and competitors who always are willing to switch up the game plan.

So what Mao Zedong is saying is not like obviously he literally never reads anything on strategy,

it's that his mind stays nimble.

His mind stains stay fluid and he's always willing to switch up the game plan or the strategy
