We are gathered here in our New York studio for a recapables on the HBO show, Barry, starting now.

Barry is the creation of Bill Hater and Alec Berg. Hater plays the titular character,

a former Marine sniper from Cleveland turned cold contract killer, turned aspiring L.A. actor.

But can Barry escape his dark past? This is the central conflict of the show.

In the first season, Barry won three Emmys, including acting nods for Hater and Henry Winkler as his acting coach Gene Cousineau.

why do we love Barry, Chris? It is a shockingly funny show for how dark it is, you know,

being a show that is about an assassin. It shows a lot of assassinations. It has a lot of great one-liners, a lot of really biting irony, and just a lot of things that they've done, like, varying the length of the opening credits, the opening little fanfare.
