The Federal Reserve will meet today to discuss whether or not to approve another rate hike in an effort to tamp down on the country's high inflation rates. The meeting comes following a hearing from the Senate Finance Committee last week, in which Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen attempted to reassure lawmakers that the country's banking system was stable following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. Meanwhile, many GOP lawmakers have criticized President Biden's lack of a plan for social security in his latest budget proposal.
