Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled the country.

There have been jubilant scenes, but also widespread looting

since the news was announced. The Army Chief General Waka Uzzaman came on television to announce the Prime Minister's

resignation and that he would be forming an interim government.

The Prime Minister has resigned.
