Because there's so many different facets to this conversation that yesterday revealed. We never got to our conversation about addiction, but that was

very obvious the other day. That is something we need to talk to because I have an addictive

personality and I can fall in down a lot. So there's a lot of things about addiction that I think

about all the time. I just want to share some of those. We'll do that tomorrow at 7 o'clock.

We didn't get to today. We just took phone calls all day and it was really great.

But in the second segment of the show, we talked about Neil Postman and his book,

Amusing Ourselves to Death.

And I totally agree with Neil Postman about this.

And I think it's just important foundational framework stuff that we need to be aware of as we have

this big conversation.

He wrote a book called Amusing Ourselves to Death. His most famous point is that,

and this is the thesis of the book, is that our future is not George Orwell's 1984. That is the dystopian future that is most in people's mind.

And that is Big Brother controlling our every move.

People quote that all the time, but that's not it.

There's another book, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.

He said, that's the one that is our future.

Postman says, Orwell warns that we will be overcome by an externally imposed oppression.

But in Huxley's vision, no big brother is required to deprive people of their autonomy,
