There aren't many people around Kansas City following the daily ins and outs with the Kansas City Royals as they just continue to have a terrible season, one for the ages.

And we're not going to do that here today. We did want to catch up with our great friend,

Ryan Lefevre, to talk about a couple of bigger picture issues with the Royals moving forward

before we get too far into football season, because I sense that football is going to hit.

And if you thought the Royals were kind of an afterthought before football season, well, you know what happens afterwards. So we can't wait to speak with our good friend, Ryan Lefevre. We'll be joining us in just a couple of moments. So stay tuned for that. I did think it's important that we talk about a couple of issues. And one is the future of the club. We saw John Sherman do a series of media interviews

this week talking about what it is that they're going to do before the end of this season.

In fact, as they go forward, and he has said they've done a tremendous amount over the last

11 months with J.J. Pacolo, the new general manager and things that they've done that people

can't really touch, see, feel, smell, whatever right now because they're things that take time.

And this is an evaluation season. And he's as disgusted as anyone else that they're losing.

It was all part of him putting out a two-page letter this week about a potential new

ballpark for the Kansas City Royals. And I think I'm the only person that continues

to say potential new ballpark. The letter confirms once again that the Royals are coming up with

private funds for $1 billion worth of entertainment and infrastructure around a ballpark that they

will own and operate and theoretically make money on forever as a real estate play, as a long-term investment,

potentially as a different corporation set up that if they ever sold the team,

they would still own the entertainment and the real estate around it.

It could all be set up that way if that's what John Sherman and his investors decide to do,

a completely separate business, and it makes sense. It is something that I'll tell you right now I would invest in.

I would gladly invest into that if they would allow me in. I'd love to invest in the billion

dollar development around the ballpark, especially if it's a separate company from the Kansas
