She's actually the author of five novels, including erotic stories for Punjabi widows,

which was a Rees' book club pick in 2018. Born in Singapore and raised in Japan, Russia, and the

Philippines, Chaswell studied creative writing at Holland's University in Virginia, and worked as an

English teacher in Australia and Turkey. She has held fellowships at the University of East Anglia

and Nan Young Technological University, where she also completed her Ph.D. in South Asian

diaspora writing. Her nonfiction has appeared in the New York Times, Harper's Bazaar India, Refinery 29, and Salon.com, among other publications. By the way, in this episode, I could not remember

the name of another book. And so I put that in the show notes after, so you can go check there.
