Now jumping into the news, our first article comes from the publication Vertebrata Pal Asiatica

in an article that is open to the public. I couldn't find if it was an open

access journal or not. Most of the websites in Chinese, so it was kind of hard to tell. But it's

titled, A New Hadrosoroid dinosaur from the late Cretaceous of Tianjin, Shang-Ci province in

China.

It was written by Xi Chow Tsu and others.

From the title, you can tell it's a hadrosoroid, and that means hadrosaur-like, but not necessarily in the actual hadrosaur family.

We've talked about this quite a bit in the past, because it's a little bit confusing

with hadrosaurid versus hadrosoids.

This specific one is named Datong Long Tianjinensis, and the generic name Datong is from Da Tong City, and Long means dragon in Chinese.

So we see Long a lot in the Chinese dinosaur discoveries.

And the specific name comes from the county where it was discovered.
