And he's run the speed figure as least as good as most of the horses in this race.

I mean, he's 15 to one in the morning line. So Medina Spirit is my shot for Torrey on Saturday.

That was two weeks ago today. Andy Byer came on the show, picked Medina Spirit, Medina Spirit 1.

I called him about 20 minutes after the race and he answered the phone by saying,

And the first one is if the second test is positive, and that means two out of two are positive.

I think it's called a split sample. We don't have it in front of us now and we may not even before the Belmont for all I know.

But if it is positive, they're going to have to take the horse down as the winner of the Derby anyway, regardless of what happens in the preekness.

What does that do to Bob Baffer?

Well, it leaves him suspended for a while, I imagine. And I think that's going to happen.

It's hard for me to imagine the scenario where all this is going to go away. I mean, I think that as it often does when Baffer gets into trouble, but there's just too much smoke surrounding this circumstance.

Unless there was a screw up at the lab on the first test.

It's going to be a positive Medina spirit. We'll be disqualified.

Medoon will be the official winner of the Kentucky Derby.

Bob Baffer's reputation and kind of a sports image are really going to take a further hit that nobody needs.

So let me get to this. I don't think there's an appeal. I mean, I think that if the two tests are positive, that's the way it goes.

And there's no further court or maybe there is a further court. But would it matter if this particular drug were applied topically as opposed to injected into the horse? Would that matter to horse racing people?

Well, the whole story about the topical ointment, I think has a lot of people scratching their heads.
