It's three minutes after ten. No, really it is. And you are listening to James O'Brien on

LVC. Long may that continue. It's a good one today. There's something a bit strange

happening in the world. I don't know if you've noticed. And I think it's probably far too

early to celebrate. But the engines or the sources, the institutions that generally dominate discourse in this country,

have never, although this may sound, they've never looked less powerful. The attempts to

staple the United Kingdom to the United States and Israel when they launched this hideous war in Iran have failed miserably.

I think the attitudes of most of the public towards Gaza demonstrates that the engines that

traditionally dominate discourse in this country are failing. Tony Blair weighing in this weekend,

apparently not noticing that his credibility

disappeared quite possibly forever the moment he joined Trump's Board of Peas. And the attempts now to

somehow blame Kia Stama for the economic impact of the war that he opposed, I don't want to say bravely opposed, but he certainly

opposed it in the face of ludicrous criticism and opposition from people who either don't

understand anything or pretend not to understand anything because that's what they are paid to do.

And listen, I've given up trying to tell the difference.

I mean, what do you do?

You take a Bader knock or a little John.

Do they not understand anything when they talk about how we've got to do everything we can to support the war? Or I've never been more ashamed to be British that Kirstama's not joining in. Or do they just pretend not to understand things because that's what they are

paid to do in the case of

professional commentators or what they somehow think voters want in the face of ludicrous

politicians. I do not know. But we turn our attention, I think, inevitably today to the

relationship between fuel costs.

Well, all costs, actually, and what is going on in the Middle East.
