Chris Sims is with us now.

And I wish you would have told me about this.

0:14.8

He said he knew the Seahawks were going to win the game before the game even started.

0:20.4

Sims, what led you to say that? And why didn't you call me

0:23.2

so I didn't have to watch the game? Jesus. Well, I mean, listen, I, you know, one, my first

0:28.0

gleaned or look at that was when I was at there. I told you I went up there for interviews, right?

0:32.8

Yeah. That's the first week after the AFC, NFC championship game. And again, not that that holds true, but I've been to some other places.

0:42.9

Like I remember being in Kansas City one year and just going, I went out to like late season

0:47.8

game and then playoffs.

0:49.1

And I was like, man, this team's got a vibe and energy and how they practice.

0:53.1

That's just different than other teams

0:54.7

I was at that year or other years or whatever. And even the day I was in Seattle, they didn't

0:59.6

practice. But the vibe of confidence and who they were, it was a little bit like, man,

1:05.8

man, they think they're good. They know they're good. When I got on the field Super Bowl Sunday,

1:11.3

right?

1:28.0

It got down by the Seahawks. So even before their pads were on, I noticed I was like, wow, I mean, the Seahawks are definitely a little more energetic on their side of the field. When the pads went on, you know, they go in, they come back out a little bit while later with the pads on,

3:41.1

there was a tangible difference where you went, man, the Seahawks are down here going crazy, going, we're about to put a show on and show everybody that were the best team in football, where you kind of felt like on the Patriots side of things. And again, this is not always 100% and the Patriots you you know, can be kind of, hey, we're the Patriots, we're some dudes, so you didn't know what to make of it. But I did feel like it was a little bit like, well, I hope we play our best game. We might be able to win the game. Right. And then so I kind of went down and told Devin McCordney and Rodney Harrison, I was just like, man, there was a total difference in energy. And they hadn't been much down on the Patriot side, but they were like, the Seahawks are going crazy. And Rodney kind of made a comment like, man, they're going so crazy. I hope they don't run out of energy before the game's over. And I was like, they're so young, like that group over there. You don't got to worry, Roddy. Devin Witherspoon could have gone four sleepless nights in a row and not run out of energy. So, yeah, I did feel it on the field a little bit pregame, but you know that it doesn't always match up, but I did feel it. No, but it seems like what you're saying is there was one team who knew they should have been there and they were going to kick their opponents ass regardless of who their opponent was and another team saying, hey, we have to play a perfect game if we want to beat this team. And that's a big difference. Yeah. Right. It's a big difference. I think it's why it led to the boring that everybody's talking about. Again, I don't find it boring. I'm okay with it, but I know normal fans and I understand why they do think it's boring. And I think it was boring a little bit because Seattle was like, we don't need to take any chances. But if we just, as long as we don't mess up, we're going to win the football game. And then on the other side of the ball, New England had both going on. One, their offense was like, we're not going to take any chances because Seattle, we played so bad on offense and everything. Like Seattle can win the game with their defense. So we got to be careful. And then the defensive side of the ball, New England was we got to take chances and make plays on the defensive side of the ball because we don't really think we're going to be able to win unless that happens, right? And you saw some of those throws early in the game. They were, oh my gosh, it looked like they were going to be, I mean, the safeties for the New England Patriots were seven, eight yards deep. So that was incredible. But I do think the Patriots thought they were going to be able to run the ball and kind of muck up the game like that, right? Even we were sitting there nine nothing,

3:45.8

12 nothing, you're going, they go down and score one touchdown. They're going to be like,

3:50.3

this is exactly what we wanted. Oh, it's nine to seven. And then maybe we can get a stop and

3:55.9

get into field goal range, to 9 right they went in

3:58.9

wanting to play that way but then the inability to run the ball at all i think put more of the

4:04.6

onus on Drake may and the passing offense that they didn't want to they didn't want to venture down
