Immigration has been one of the defining features of Irish life

since the Great Hunger.

Generation after generation have been drawn to the United States

with the hope of finding a better life across the Atlantic.

In several past episodes of this podcast,

I've looked at the various ways Irish migrants

found the reality of life in the U.S.

for a far short of their hopes and dreams.
