And this book, which has nothing to do with her real life, is about a writer who is canceled for the movie adaptation of her book not being particularly good. So it has nothing to do with her. We also are really playing into this because the book starts out with two podcasters like shitting on this woman's book. Which I have to say, I'm like, I understand that other media has to be made about podcasts because podcasts

are like such a preeminent cultural force now. But I just don't like when podcasts are in other media.

That's why they're podcasts and they're not anything else. Like that Kristen Bell show, those two

have a podcast and it's like a podcast in a TV show. This book opens up with like a podcast and a book.

I'm like, I don't get it. But I do actually think it's really interesting in this Colleen Hoover book. I think she's so self-aware of all like the tropes that have been like levied against her. There's like more quote unquote like female friendship vibes in this one, which I think is because it's like, barely. Well, she's a horrible friend of the one person she does know. Well, the friend is also pretty bad to her. Do you finish the book? Yes, yes, totally. Much to consider. But to be honest, I think it's because the Colleen Hoover character, I'm just going to call it, the Colleen Hoover character, is way worse to her consistently throughout the novel. But, yeah, I think, like, it was interesting that it opens up with this sort of, like, girl talk, like, podcast situation. They're like, hey girls, we're here to shit on this terrible book. And the podcast is called and what now readers. By the way, sorry, for someone who's worked in podcasting, it's just bad. It's bad as yo. It's a bad title. And what now? Readers. I mean, it's like, did you even think about Colleen coming up with something? Right. So that's kind of not anything that a podcast would be called.

I know, but it's so interesting because I feel like we're like layers of reality because

we're dissecting.

Basically, it opens with two podcasters.

And I mean, here we are.

Two female podcasters.

Shit.

But you know what?

They only had 2,000 listeners.

Yep.

So not us.

Could never be us.

And she's really offended by the fact that this podcast that doesn't have that many listeners is shitting on her.

The other thing that happens a couple times throughout this book is she throws some like random strays at Romantasy, which is so funny. Like she's clearly, clearly jealous that like fourth wing and Akatar like having their moment, like she's feeling her crown slipping or like several times when she's like, well, it's not a romantic. Well, there's no dragons in it. Yeah. So maybe people don't even like it. It's like,

okay. All right. But this, I mean, it just starts out with like, these girls are like, we're gossip semeliers. Who needs alcohol when you can get drunk on the shit we have today? Ooh, I love how spicy this is. So I'm turning it off. It literally feels like if you put like write a Benchtopia episode in tragedy.

Honestly, this is worse.
