Today is a very special episode, plant friends, because I'm not necessarily bringing you a horticulture

expert. I am bringing you a friend. I'm bringing you someone from my personal life who I have had a

front row seat watching her absolutely blossom as a first time gardener. And I thought it would be

really fun to sit down and have a chat with Lily, my brother's

girlfriend, who has had the most incredible success at her first year gardening that I think I have

ever seen. Lily has dove into the deep end when it's come to completely transforming her barren

backyard into an unbelievable, edible

oasis. You're going to hear about how she pretty much was harvesting and eating from her garden

every single day for the entire summer. And it's been fun. I've been texting with Lily about her

garden for the entire gardening season, and I thought it could be cool to bring her on the podcast

to kind of process and unpack her first year in the garden. What made it a success? What are the

things that she learned from? To kind of pull the curtain behind a first year gardener's

experience and what it's like to have a tremendous success. So much of the episodes that we do on

this podcast are about filling in gaps in knowledge, right? Interviewing experts so that we're

prepared for when something goes wrong. We know how to fix it. But I think this conversation was a

super fun celebration of gardening, doing it and figuring it out as you go, and a fun moment

for me to talk to my brother's girlfriend about her garden that I thought that you guys might
