Major corporate media has ignored this story and these are emails that have been revealed

showing what are called backroom dealings between the CDC and a powerful public sector

labor union, the American Federation of Teachers. Now this was broke by the New York Post

and they use emails they received through Freedom of Information Act request from an organization

called Americans for Public Trust and here's the headline, Powerful Teachers Union Influence

CDC on School Reopening's email show and the CDC guidelines were basically for a full

reopening and in-person learning and but after a lengthy exchange, email exchange with

these union representatives, the CDC actually changed its guidelines in the days leading

up to this release. So the teachers union actually went in and said, hold on, we're not ready

to open, we don't care what the scientists inside of the CDC are pointing to our teachers

union wants to have a say in this, so slow your roll, don't let kids go back to school yet.

Is that the gist of it? Yeah and in full defense the CDC says what we collaborate with a

lot of people and we take, they call them stakeholders, we listen to a lot of stakeholders in this

but the emails show a flurry of activity between the CDC director, Dr. O'Rushal Wollensky,

her top advisors, union officials and even White House officials were looped into these

as well and you know going back to this New York Post article, this is kind of the meat

and potatoes of what this was. It shows in at least two instances, language suggestions

offered by the union were adopted nearly verbatim in the final text of the CDC document. One

of the most alarming ones was the CDC ranks when it came to these opening of schools, it

ranks these areas of community transmission at a color based level. So it said if there

is a high rate of community transmission, the red zone that they deem it, then schools
