The government are urging primary schools to reopen today.

I think every family has to make the decision they feel is right in their

circumstances. But with coronavirus stubbornly lingering around the country

reopening schools has become a dilemma for parents and teachers alike.

Sean Griffiths is the Sunday Times Education Editor. She's been keeping an eye on school closures throughout lockdown.

When the government first announced that primary schools across the country

would be able to reopen today,

Shan wanted to know how those schools had been preparing.

So I called up some of the superheads that I knew,

and one in particular a guy called Dan Moynihan.

He is the CEO of the Harris Academy's Trust and I

phoned him up and I said are you drawing up plans for your schools to reopen

safely and are you submitting them to the government. What did he say?

He started telling me about the trust's plans

and they just seemed to me utterly extraordinary.
