Alan Silvestri is one of the finest composers working in Hollywood today. We could fill up this little box of blurb just by listing the movies he's worked on. Films like The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Films like Predator and Ready Player One and Captain America: The First Avenger. And almost every single Robert Zemeckis film, from Romancing The Stone to The Witches. Naturally, that includes Back To The Future, and Silvestri is deeply involved in Back To The Future: The Musical, which is due to come to the London stage in August. So, just ahead of an event called Back To The Future: From Screen To Stage, which is going to be on the BFI YouTube page at 7pm on April 29th, we jumped at the chance to get him onto the pod and talk about writing new songs and score for that musical, and his illustrious career. So sit back, relax, and dive into 90 minutes of pure joy as Silvestri tells Chris Hewitt and Amon Warmann all about working with Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, Marvel, and more. 0:31.4	In that time he has scored every single one of Robert Semeckas' movies since they first
0:36.6	started working together with 1984's Romance in the Stone.
0:40.6	His way with a melody and muscular percussion has driven the likes of action movies like
0:46.1	Predator, The Long Kis Good Night and Fan Helsing while he's shown off his playful side
0:51.2	on the likes of Mouse Hunt and The Quick and The Dead.
0:55.1	And in his time composing three of the four Avengers movies he came up with one of the
1:00.3	greatest superhero themes if not movie themes full stop.

1:09.4	And now he's reunited with Robert Semeckas and Bob Gell, the two Bob's who co-wrote back
1:14.3	to the future for back to the future at the musical of which Sylvestery co-wrote all
1:18.8	the songs with Glenn Ballard and wrote a new score that plays upon the score he wrote
1:24.0	for the 1985 classic.
1:26.4	The show debuted in Manchester last year before the pandemic and will soon hopefully be
1:32.5	winding its merry way to London at precisely 88 miles per hour.
1:37.4	It's scheduled to arrive here in August.
