Summary
On the night of December 5, 1876 as a play found itself in intermission just prior to its final act, smoke & flames would erupt within the Brooklyn Theatre.
Despite the best efforts of stagehands and staff alike, chaos and panic would soon spread with the same ferocity as the flames.
When all was said & done, more than 250 people were dead. At the Gettin’ Salty Experience we not only like to chronicle & memorialize the careers of those in the fire service, but the very events that throughout time have come to shape our response & tactics.
