Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's called the Mind, all those we've promised to pray for,

especially Olivia and Margot through the intercession of

blessed Pauline Jericho. It's amazing what God has allowed our civilization to

accomplish our health our

health,

endless supply of food, the goods of family,

the capacity for travel and leisure.

Only about two generations ago, the average middle class family only

spent 1% of its income on entertainment, vacation, and fun.

Today, the average middle-class family

spends more than that just on its cable and phone bill

alone. Because we can satisfy our basic needs so cheaply, an increasingly

large portion of our income is dedicated to simply enjoying life. Put it another way. John D Rockefeller, arguably

the richest person, at least in American history, who died when our grandparents were alive,

didn't enjoy the luxuries we all take for granted.

He couldn't watch streaming TV, surf the internet, or send an email.

He couldn't benefit from the modern medical treatments we have and he didn't have air conditioning. And for most of his life, there were no cars and no airplanes.

Even poor people in our civilization have a really different experience of poverty than in the past.

In the past, poor people had to worry about starving.
