My name is Christine Blackburn, and I'm here with Hanna Sfini, and we're coming to you from the headquarters of Sittercity.com, which is a national website that enables you to find babysitters anywhere you want in this country. Now, see, I think this is a very smart thing, a service that brings all the babysitters together, right? Yeah, it's probably better than Craig's List because you don't know what you're getting with. You're like, hey, do you want to take care of my child? Yes, I do. You don't want that guy. I think that these guys probably have insurance and they've gone through like a vetting process of the applicants. Yeah, and at the very least, there's somebody else to sue if something goes wrong. Yeah, I would think that this would be, and also, like, if somebody cancels, they can replace them easily. That's a big thing as a parent. You know, like you plan a night out, you're ready to roll, and either the babysitter doesn't come. They don't, they call and cancel, they text, or they just blow you off. And so I'm sure if you use a babysitting service, it makes sense. But they didn't have this. Now, you used to babysit, right? Oh my gosh. Honest, I babysat since I was like 11 years old when I had no business babysitting. Yeah, 11 years. You're a baby. They left me with children, very small children. They would have to be because if they left you with any normal children, and they'd be the same age as you. You were 11. And a landline, of course, because there was no other way of communicating. And they would write down the number of the restaurant where they were going to be. And that's really all you had. Yeah, kids, here's something that people used to do. You used to have a phone at a restaurant and they would take calls for you and come find you.

3:08.3

You're not going to get that today. Well, no, because your phone's going to ring in your pocket. Right. And then the guy who runs the restaurant is going to come over and say, could you turn your fucking cell phone off? You're disturbing the rest of my customers. There were a couple restaurants, actually, that had telephones at the tables. and that would be like their hook is that you would call the guy at table 28,

and he'd pick up the phone, and then magically you're talking. Even though you could see the guy's lips moving across the way. Right. It would have been easier to walk over toward him. It made no sense. But at the time. Or write a note on a napkin. Remember the, and this is off the bar, the individual jukeboxes at each booth. There's a couple of diners in Pittsburgh that still have that.

3:29.8

I respect that.
