A triplet is what you get when you cram three of a given note, say an eighth note or a quarter

note, into the length of time it'd normally take to play too.

It's also an automatic poetic musical term, so if you need to remember what a triplet sounds

like, well, you can just say triplet.

It is one of my favorites, though, dense with rich harmony, and one of the most iconic

grooves ever recorded, so let's cut the pre-emble, bring up the horns, and do this thing.

The studio musician is an almost mythological figure in the history of recorded music,

like the popular conception of a night-errant or a Ronin Samurai, going from town to town

looking for grooves to lay down, or beautiful solos to play to better enhance the work

of established bands and groups of people that play together.
