let's see what happens one of the first things that viewers of baby reindeer are told by

Netflix is that this is a true story, not based on a true story or inspired

by real events.

Now Richard Gad said that he and Netflix had gone to such great lengths to disguise Martha's real identity that she wouldn't even recognize herself.

Right, so this raises an important question about privacy, right?

Should Richard Gadd have done more to mask the identity of the real Martha?

And at first I'm thinking, well, victims of abuse should be allowed to talk about their experience, even if it risks outing the abuser, right?

A crime has occurred and there's a victim, so we shouldn't punish victims for coming forward.

They're already punished enough as it is.

On the other hand, there is a lot of people online

who will claim they have been harmed by someone else only later for us to learn that that claim

was extremely dubious.

Well, Fierna Harvey is the woman outed as the real Martha of baby reindeer.

I'll also say that I read the article, interview of her, I forget which publication

it was, and this is just my take, I don't know, obviously, but I was thinking, why is this woman coming forward?

If she just would have laid low, it probably would have blown over, I can't know that, but she is drawing a lot of attention to herself.

And unless she has a really effective way of garnering sympathy from everyone who has watched this show, it just seems like an unwise move.

But if the character, Martha, on the fictional TV show, Baby Reindeer, is an accurate depiction

of the behavior that Richard Gad observed, and if that profile of behavior is indicative of a personality issue,

such as narcissism or other kinds of issues, then that individual might struggle with a situation like this in a variety of ways.
