away or anything. We were 15 minutes away from a small town with the local grocery store.

When I was in high school, though, we did get a dollar general, which you see in so many small towns.

This happened when I was in college.

I was commuting 45 minutes to a nearby university

while living with my parents.

They had gone with my younger brother on a trip somewhere.

For the life of me I can't remember where.

The important part is that I was home alone for a few nights.

I had cooked dinner and was just sitting outside on our back porch, browsing the internet.

We had a dog-cennel about a hundred feet from the back porch

that used to house our two lapardoors who were prone to attacking the

neighbor's chickens.

They had passed away years before this happened, but we never took down the kennel.

It was in view of our neighbors, about twice the I believe were around 9 and 14 at this time. I was

sitting there and heard what sounded like the mischievous giggling of a couple

of young boys in the trees just past the dog kennel. I know I just said there were two young boys living nearby, but this was very

strange, seeing as that they had never come onto our property uninvited and mostly kept to themselves.
