Here we go on the podcast on a Thursday. Al, how are you, sir? Oh, hi, Jerry. What is up your ass today? Jerry, what did you make of the ESPN firings yesterday? What was your takeaway from that? What did you think about it? What is you, where do you see the industry

going? What is your take? It's really, it's funny you asked me that because I was at your old

alma mater yesterday, Kane University. Oh, nice. Jerry Carino, who covers Rutgers, amongst other

sports. I met him this year while I was doing the Rutgers games. He's an adjunct professor there for radio and TV and sports.

It's a communications class. And so he asked me to speak yesterday, so I went over the beautiful campus, by the way.

Very nice what they've done.

Anybody mentioned, oh, you know, Al Duke's famous alumni.

Not a single person.

Not a solo, okay.

No, nobody. But it was interesting being there, and one of the students who wants to be a reporter, he's not sure for print because he doesn't know what that's going to be, or radio or TV, asked me a very direct question when we did the Q&A at the end. He goes, you know, based on what's happening at ESPN today, based on what's happened with newspapers, should we even have wasted our time doing this? Something to that effect. Like, what is the future of this in the next couple of years? To where I looked at them and I said, I don't know. I don't know what to tell you. The only thing I would say is while a lot of jobs are gone, you've got to look at new media.

Things like Bleacher Report hire and are doing well.

There are things like barstool sports that do very well.

It's new media.

It's different.
