We need this is fire. We need healing. We need trust.

These companies don't really, they don't care what governments do.

This is a war. The first thing that we want is the war to end.

For this interview, I met Palestinian and Israeli authors and peace activists Aziz Abu Saara and Mao Zinan in the BBC studios in London.

Mao Zinan's parents were killed during the Hamas attacks of October the 7th.

Aziz Abu Saara's brother died after being detained for nearly a year in an Israeli military prison.

Together, they forged an unlikely friendship across the Israeli-Palestine divide,

becoming leading voices for reconciliation, arguing that peace can only be

built through empathy, dialogue and a recognition of each other's humanity.

Their new book, The Future Is Peace, chronicles their eight-day drive across Israel and Palestine,

through checkpoints, holy sites, refugee camps and separation walls.

Aziz Abu Sara and Mao Zanon talk about loss, forgiveness, and why they remain hopeful,

despite the devastation of war.

The first step in reaching a social society, enriching a future is to look to the other in the eye and recognize him.

Listen to his pain, to his suffering, to his loss, not necessarily agree on everything,

but just recognize and acknowledge the pain, the suffering, the trauma, hear the dreams and

aspiration, and then start working together
