I'm your host, Richard Spanner's Ready, and I'm joined by Matt to romp it's good evening, Matt.

And good evening, Spanner's. I'm always delighted to be on when I get to talk about the fact that tires are always the most important thing on any car.

Is tires one of the subjects for today? That's about all we're going to be talking about, I suspect.

So, okay, well, it's you and I on the show, we're the most important ones, so you want to talk about tires.

I just want to talk about Perez, so I guess that's the direction of the show, easy show notes today.

Are you still kick?

Actually, I think today was a great race and part of my justification for that would be that I was 10 minutes late, so I got held up at work.

I phoned my son and I said, right, pause the television until I get home.

So we started 10 minutes late and I thought, it's okay, I will catch up when there's some boring bits or when nothing's likely to happen.

And we didn't catch up until the stroll safety car.

Yeah, because things just kept happening.

I mean, it was a properly good race from start to finish and I will say that I'm loving this new format.

Yeah, and the new sprint race format at the end of the day, indeed.

It's a bold choice by Formula One to just throw that into the middle of a street circuit race.

Yeah, I think we just need to make sure we give it plenty of time before we decide if we like it or not.
