It's awkward. It's Tuesday. It's awkward Tuesday phone call. We're in the middle of a time called the great resignation right now where people are leaving their jobs.

Switching careers at a record pace in this country. We've seen it here at the radio station. I wish I could see it here in the studio sometimes.

0:55.0

You're wishing that for yourself right. It's like how crazy would it be if I just walked out right now. It's just fucking never came back. It's crazy. These times I wouldn't blink at eyebrow. No come back. I'll take over. You don't have any other skills. You have no other skills. You're about to stay here. I'm going to stay because I kind of want to hear what happens to the guy that emailed the show. I'm only doing it for the listeners. Not for anybody. You are horrible. I just tell you.

1:25.0

I would have begged you to stay, but that's okay. Damon is the one that emailed us for help about something going on with his job. Damon, welcome to the show, man. Hey, what's going on, bud? Damon, I hope you have a better resume than anybody in radio does. I hope the co-workers actually like you. What kind of business do you work in?

1:46.0

I don't want to get super specific about business, but it's it's it's radio.

1:51.0

It's a competitor. I mean, can you tell us is it a desk job? Is it a what kind of job is it? Well, let me ask a more interesting question than that.

2:00.0

Tell us about again, I told you it's a desk job. It's a desk job. Okay. So what's what's going on in your life and your career? Like what made you email us?

2:12.0

Well, so I've been like just basically applying for a lot of different jobs. I was in this dead end career. The company wasn't doing well at all. So I just figured, you know, it was time to get out. So I started looking.

2:25.0

Okay. You know, just applying online, you know, probably like 70 80 different jobs online. Oh my gosh. You'll take anything besides the job you're currently working.

2:36.0

I'm guessing his cover letter says to whom this may concern because you were just mass sending those out. Yeah. How is that going? Like, well, I wasn't getting anything for a while. Okay.

2:48.0

And there is this one. I mean, I can't tell you the name, but it starts with an e. Okay. And I see it in my inbox and I immediately freak out because out of all of them, this is probably like one of the top places I would want to work. It's like a dream job.

3:02.0

Is anyone else going through all the e companies in their head right now? I can think of like two. Yeah.

3:09.0

It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. So you're excited. Yeah. Within this company, I've heard you move up the ladder and you can move up pretty quick.

3:16.0

And so I was really excited. I'm thinking I'm going to have to go through like 16 stages of interviews, background checks, like test.

3:24.0

Oh, there's a legitimate company that you're talking about. Well, that's what I assumed. But then the person just emails me back and says, call me today so we can discuss potential appointment.

3:36.0

What? Right off of that. I didn't have to do anything. She just goes, I need someone ASAP. Okay. Everybody else is thinking this is sketchy, right?

3:43.0

To what? He just has an amazing resume. I don't know. Maybe they're desperate. I mean, even still, I just feel like you're going to call this person.

3:50.0

And we're like, okay, for $500. Just wire me the money. And then we'll give you a job in gift cards. Totally. So did you call them? Like, how did that go? Yeah. So I called the woman. Her name was Aaron. She's the boss. Okay. And she was really cool.

4:05.0

She seemed a little younger and said that she was surprised when someone with my skill set applied. And she seems like super excited.
