All right, welcome on to our second awards pod of the season here in the beginning of January.

0:06.8

It's been a weird month to be sure since the last time that we did this, but we're still going to bring you the awards anyway.

0:14.2

We do that on a monthly basis.

0:15.8

So yeah, how did you did the weirdness of this last month affect your process at all here?

0:22.0

I don't think it necessarily affected my process.

0:24.8

The idea of how you go through it is pretty much the same, but one of the things that it shifted, which I think is somewhat useful for the way that I do, let's say, all NBA anyway, is I generally go if you've played enough, if you played enough games you qualify, and then it's about how good you were not about how much you played, because some of these guys like Jimmy Butler, for example, like he's been out for a while, but I consider more what he did when he was, when he was available.

0:49.2

And the other part of it, and this will be a natural segue into the MVP discussion is an important part of value is being available.

0:58.3

And while it is fair to argue that some of these absences were anomalous and that they were different. Honestly, that doesn't matter.

1:04.9

Like it's not a predictive thing.

1:06.5

It's just how much, how much were you available?

1:08.7

How much did you help your team?

1:09.9

And so what you're, we're not saying in these awards, I think player X is going to win award X.

1:15.8

You're saying that if the season ended today, player X would be my pick for award X.

1:20.4

Yeah, I also found myself really struggling to differentiate in all NBA in a few positions that I unfortunately had to kind of fall back on minutes as a tie breaker.

1:29.7

But let's get right into it here.

1:31.6

Who is your MVP as of today, January 2nd, 2022?

1:36.3

At the outset, I will say that this is the top four for me in MVP are extremely close,

1:42.3

especially when you factor in certain cases, you factor in the time plate, where I think some of the guys that have been a little better played a little less and so on and so forth.

1:50.4

And that said, to me, the player who has been, I would say he's been the best overall, but also has played the most minutes, which values.

1:58.0

And that's Stefan Curry and Curry ridiculously efficient on offense.

2:01.8

The engine just like so many of these guys are and 61% true shooting 33 usage also, you know, huge role as an passer.

2:10.4

And then I don't give Curry like there's only so much credit you can give him for being the system and creating buckets, even when he's not getting assist because you run yourself into a logic trap there.
