Welcome on to a very special interrupted paternity leave version of dunked on Danny is gone for a couple of weeks here, but great to have it back because he just had to abandon his new family to do awards.

How's everything going man?

It's going really well thanks. I mean it's as you know it's a lot of changes and it's a lot of stuff going on, but it's all it's been very good. We're fortunate to have to have help and babies doing well. My wife's doing well.

And so it's you know it's it's been a great process. It will of course continue for a much longer time, but it's been it's also been nice to like have I carve out a little bit of time each day to like work on the awards and to log the games that happen and everything else like that.

So it's like I'm trying to stay at least vaguely tethered to the world that we inhabit. All right. Well then I think not being tethered to this MVP debate has probably been enjoyable. I will say this whole oh my god it's so toxic now like I mean I don't know is it why like what can I can it if it's if you're finding it toxic then these people don't have to engage in it like that's it's another part of this is like if there are people that you think are making it worse than there are many ways to make it so that it's not going to be a lot of things.

It's not a lot of ways to make it so that that is less of your life personal but yeah it has been weird. Yeah all you have to do is just have a baby right around this time and yes that's the real that's the real trick.

Then you just don't have to engage. No I mean I haven't seen like I have a list that I follow if you guys want to join it it's called essential basketball on Twitter that's basically all I look at I don't listen to the talking head shows really unless one of those clips shows up on my list which is very rare and so I think it's it's finally a Darryl Mori is advocating for his guy like yeah go ahead Darryl I don't care it's part of his job.

Well at least he sees it that way okay let's do it then Yokech first and be do you got I have Yokech as my number one and I am this is the first year ever that I come into this awards podcast and I think part of this might be you know the baby and everything else but where there are elements of my top five ballot because in this we generally try to cue to what the actual ballot is and when I have them in my notes I will tell you all the actual criteria as it is written in the NBA I don't have that for most of the words I have it for

a couple of them and because sometimes that's interesting and this is the first time so I will tell you right now my top three is Yokech and beat and Yannis in that order but I I was dancing around putting Yannis second and I

been dancing around how I wanted to tears here so I'm interested in where you have this and it kind of work through it a little bit yeah I have that same top three I actually don't think that

Yannis is particularly close to these guys I mean I think Yannis is the better player you know we just John I just did top 10 players and at some point I want to get your

thoughts on that and see where you differ but you know I definitely think Yannis is a better player than either of those two guys these playoffs may force me to

revise my opinion we will see but yeah I mean we can get to the honest if you have them third also of why we let's start

let's start close but we each have the same top two let's start with the top two exactly yes so to me it boils down to the Denver

nuggets are a better basketball team with Nicole Yokech on the floor than the Philadelphia 76ers are when Joellen B does on the floor

that's that's ultimately what it comes down to for me I get all these narrative issues I get the fact that Joellen B

'd kicked Yokech's ass the one time that they played in Philadelphia and then and B didn't play in the other game

you know I don't put a ton of stock in that particularly when guys are in the opposite conference like Dern Williams used to beat

Chris Paul the time that didn't make Dern Williams better player than Chris Paul there's just something about one matchup against one guy

uh so I would say the sixers have as much if not more talent around Joellen B'd then the nuggets have Ron Yokech and so I mean that's

what it boils down to I mean we can at some point we got to just give these guys top line stats but I mean that's what I can

boil my rationale down to and obviously we'll support that later did you have to kind of a different conception of it
