Summary

Today, I am back with my friends talking about science with older children today. (Refer to the previous science podcast for younger reads for children. It is so much fun. I learned so much by guiding my children through these subjects—my own personal favorite being physics.

Well, shall we keep going forward? We've kind of gone through child's guides and we've

0:41.0

gone through lots of different guide books. Gritian, what are some more of your favorites?

0:46.0

So some more of our favorites as they start getting older. I love to incorporate

0:51.9

history with science and reading about different scientists. So we'll read different

0:58.2

biographies and things but there are a couple of books, this Isaac Newton and it's Isaac

1:05.5

Newton in Physics for Kids and it's his life and ideas with 21 activities and there's also

1:10.3

a Galileo one. I love those. I love them. I haven't thought of those in my major.

1:16.3

And so it just to incorporate what was going on in the world during their life and during

1:21.2

their time. So it's kind of a little bit biography but then some science experiments with

1:27.0

1:33.7

have loved is Theodore Gray has a series and again the pictures are amazing. He has

1:40.8

one called the elements and one called molecules and it goes through every element on the periodic

1:45.8

table and shows actual beautiful pictures of every element and talks about their uses and

1:53.8

where they're famous. That's beautiful. I mean they are just amazing. And so my

2:01.6

children from probably the time I would say eight or nine up and of course the teenagers when

2:08.4

they're taking chemistry when we're kind of studying that more in depth as a teenager.

2:13.6

We'll use it even more but they are just a beautiful resource and even as a tablebook you know

2:19.0

just to have around. I'm not familiar with that one. He has a third book called Reactions as well
