Summary

This episode of AWAKENING is an exploration of physical death, which we will all experience as humans at one point or another. What happens to the body when we die, and what happens to the Soul or consciousness? How can we understand this process of death from a spiritual perspective? We will also explore what it means when someone we love dies, and how we might cope with such an experience.

Throughout the episode, I mention this book: The Tibetan Book of the Dead for Beginners, published by Sounds True in June 2023 - https://www.soundstrue.com/products/the-tibetan-book-of-the-dead-for-beginners

I am eternally grateful to Jodie for writing in and nudging me, strongly, towards this topic. Thank you for sharing your experience and insights with us.

Today we're tackling a vast, profound, mysterious, often difficult topic that as humans we might sometimes tend to avoid or ignore,

1:16.6

of course, until it happens to us in some way.

1:20.6

This topic is death, physical death, so what happens to the physical body when it dies? What happens to the soul and to our

consciousness at that moment of physical death? And then afterwards, how do we cope if we are the ones

left behind still living in physical bodies when our loved ones cross back over to non-physical form.

1:47.1

These are huge challenging questions, and I've wanted to tackle this topic for a long time,

1:54.6

probably for a couple of years now, but I always felt a little bit intimidated and kind of shied away or wanted to wait a bit longer to maybe have more experience or be wiser about this topic or read more or find peace with the idea of death myself first before doing an entire episode on this.

what to expect people's near-death experiences, these kinds of things, to really have a fuller
