The United States awaits the house vote on the $900 billion covid relief package. The United States tops 318,000 covid-19 deaths and 17.9 million cases.  President-elect Joe Biden receives the initial dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Biden is now part of the more than 550,000 Americans that have been vaccinated so far. Fauci, Azar and Collins are to receive the initial vaccinations on Tuesday. States are receiving fewer vaccine doses than promised. The CDC says that frontline workers and people over 75 should get the coronavirus vaccine next. The first few Moderna vaccinations happen amid global concerns about a new covid variant.  Health officials say that the new covid variant could be 70 percent more transmissible. The chief operation warp speed adviser says that there is "no hard evidence" that the new covid variant is more transmissible. Dozens of countries have banned flights from the United Kingdom over the new covid variant, where it has originated.
