the question is from Miles again, I think I mentioned that last time. What defines heavy infantry

in the ancient world? Were phalanjites considered heavy infantry in their time?

Ooh! Okay. Wow. Where to start?

I think the idea of heavy infantry, light infantry,

medium infantry is a modern one,

which is pushed backwards into the ancient world,

who didn't necessarily think in those terms.
