today's question from Miles is,

what armor did Macedonian and late Hellenistic phalanjites wear?

If they were initially equipped with lighter armor, for example,

Linothorax, did they wear heavier metal armor at later points in history?

If not, do we know why?

Okay.

Gosh, many, many things to discuss in that and try and debunk some things without causing new controversies. So, you know, Linothorax is

obviously a modern term to explain linen armor, which is a controversy in itself, which we won't get into.

We'll just use that phrase for what appears to be a linen armor that the

linnon thorax that the ancients would wear.

Now, what you've got is in most depictions of philangites from all periods they appear to be wearing some kind of linen armour

and they are more lightly armoured than hoplights mostly down to do with the shield however
