Well, I think Hugo's question may have arisen out of our discussion

about whether the Carthaginian phalanx was what we understand to be a phalanx.

And the idea of stripping the dead, obviously, is something that

goes all the way back to Homeric and earlier, you know, warfare, which is not only about plunder,

but also about getting a better sword, helmet, shield, set of armour.
