Jason Rubinewitz and hello we have Ned Russell from Skiff with us today and you know when we come to you live in video form, some airline has melted down operationally. We don't do these often, I think we did this last,

what was it, like 2017 when the entirety of JFK Airport had a meltdown, wasn't just an airline, but in this case,

it's Southwest Airlines completely has fallen over.

Hey guys, pleasure to be here. I wish it was for more better circumstances though.

Yeah, it's so much of a meltdown that Ned's not actually supposed to be working this week and

Jason's not actually supposed to be working this week.

We weren't supposed to have any episode of Ad Talk.

We were going to do a clip show, but we got together

and decided that it was time to take a look at what's going on with Southwest

and what they're doing to kind of reset things. So if we go to the live map, these are all of the active Southwest flights at the moment,

and it's not as many as it's supposed to be. At the moment we've got, let's see, 217 active

Southwest flights, which is actually much more now in the last hour or two hours

than we've seen in a very long time.

So as of about a half hour ago, here are the daily cancellations for Southwest.

So what happened was in most parts of the United States,

beginning on the 22nd of December here and I'll I'll move this little

little bar so we can we can see the whole chart so on the 22nd of December, weather moved in across the US.

There was poor weather.

Need some emphasis on that.
