We're podcasting here from Ned's wonderfully air-conditioned DC house.

But I am on the road passing through DC on my way to Virginia and I thought who better to spend four hours between things I need to do for work

then with med on the day we record podcast and I helped recent ride the metro from

DCA for the first time ever which she was quite impressed by.

That's true.

When I go to D.C. I almost always take the train.

If I can, Amtrak's not been doing so hot this summer because it's too hot for Amtrak.

So for the only the third time ever, the second time this summer actually I flew on the old shuttle route

from LaGuardia to DCA.

It was fine.

LaGuardia was a bit of a mess.

There was some sort of oil spill on the wraps,

so our inbound aircraft was late,

and then a flight to Miami was two hours late because of course it was so things were

Okay, but my upgrade cleared which I didn't expect because I don't even have status on American and we pulled into the gate at DCA only eight minutes late, which is practically early these days.

And then I was on the train in less than 10 minutes.
